Overview

CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior SharePoint Developer to support our team in Indian Head, Maryland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining SharePoint-based solutions that meet the unique needs for various departments aboard Indian Head and enhances the functionality and user experience of the SharePoint Online environment.

 

Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.

Responsibilities

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams and partners to design SharePoint solutions that align with business needs and standard processes with a focus on flexibility.
  • Work closely with the development team, engineers, system analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver high-quality solutions on time and within scope.
  • Lead the development, configuration, and deployment of SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, workflows, and other components to address department needs.
  • Build visually appealing and adaptable user interfaces that improve the overall user experience of SharePoint sites.
  • Integrate SharePoint solutions with other systems and applications, ensuring data consistency and interoperability.
  • Develop custom web parts, applications, and solutions using SharePoint technologies (SharePoint Framework, PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Design, Develop, and or improve several projects using Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI).
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Perform thorough testing of SharePoint solutions to ensure high quality and reliable performance.
  • Stay current with the latest SharePoint and industry trends, recommending best practices and improvements to enhance system functionality and efficiency.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance development processes and capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, Master's Degree DESIRED
  • Eight (8) years of related work experience; additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in SharePoint Development (including customized code, and creating/modifying web parts, creating/modifying SharePoint workflows)
  • Four (4) years of experience documenting software defects using a bug tracking system and reporting defects to software developers and project managers
  • Four (4) years of experience with software development Unit Testing, System Testing, Functional Testing, User Acceptance Testing, or other development testing experience
  • Extensive experience and in-depth understanding of SharePoint/O365.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining SharePoint sites, including development.
  • Extensive experience with a proven track record of designing and implementing SharePoint solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, JavaScript/Query, PowerShell, and HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with Power Platform applications (PowerAutomate, PowerBI, Power Apps etc.).
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle Process such as Agile, Scrum, Lean, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer, Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate, or equivalent, are a plus.
  • Sec+ Certification DESIRED
