Overview

CommIT Enterprises is seeking a talented Zero Trust Architecture Engineer to join their team in Stafford, VA. The Zero Trust (ZT) Architecture Engineer role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of acquisition processes and procedures and security principles and compliance requirements: 

 

Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.

Responsibilities

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

  • ZT Architecture:
    • Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and Zero Trust maturity models.
    • Understand ZT principles including knowledge of ZT and ZT Network Access (ZTNA) architectures (micro-segmentation, least privilege access, continuous authentication, and policy enforcement).
    • Familiarity with Industry ZTNA vendors and their respective capability offerings.
    • Understand Cybersecurity concepts, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint security, and vulnerability management.  
  • Systems Engineering Lifecycle:
    • Understand Marine Corps requirements analysis, system design, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance procedures and processes.
    • Understand how to establish product, functional and allocated solution baselines.
    • Understand the processes, procedures, tools, and resources needed for effective configuration management.
    • Ability to document policies and procedures for managing configurations, including change management, version control, and release management 
    • Skilled in developing procurement documentation such as: Statements of Work (SOWs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and performance-based acquisition strategies.
    • Ability to conduct technical evaluations and analysis to include the ability to assess technical proposals and evaluate vendor capabilities against specific security requirements.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers.
    • Ability to delegate tasks effectively and provide constructive feedback.
    • Ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences both written and verbal.
    • Experience presenting technical solutions to clients and stakeholders.
    • Ability to create detailed technical documentation (e.g., system design documents, test plans, standard operating procedures).
    • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Program analysts, engineers, logisticians and contractors).
