CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Developer to join our dynamic development team in Charleston, SC. *This position can also be remote! The ideal candidate will have a passion for building high-quality software solutions, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and utilizing modern technologies to deliver robust and scalable systems. 

Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

• Design and Development: 
  Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and maintain software applications and systems that meet business requirements and technical specifications. 
• Coding & Debugging: 
  Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Debug and troubleshoot complex issues in both development and production environments. 
• Testing & Quality Assurance: 
  Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews. Implement automated testing where applicable. 
• Collaboration: 
  Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and contribute to technical architecture discussions. 
• Documentation: 
  Maintain comprehensive documentation for code, APIs, and system processes to ensure knowledge sharing across teams. 
• Optimization: 
  Identify opportunities for improving performance, scalability, and reliability of existing systems and software products. 
• Continuous Learning: 
  Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, contributing to the team's knowledge and evolving development practices. 

Required Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 
• Proven experience (5+ years) in software development.
• Proficiency in:
  • Test-driven development with Angular, React, Java, Junit, etc.
  • Database experience MySQL 8.0
  • Pair programming in Extreme Programming framework
    • Evolutionary design 
    • Collective code ownership 
    • Retros Short iterations CI/CD
  • CI/CD and application build and deploy (Tanzu, Git)
    • Understand and prioritize work creating and managing container pipelines within Tanzu or have supported an existing environment
• Experience working in a DOD and Agile Development environment that combines Lean, Scrum and XP frameworks
• Understanding of cloud architecture
• Ability to correlate requirements to specific tasking
• Familiarity with JIRA, User Stories, and updating Jira tickets to with appropriate levels of content
• Experience with documentation in Atlassian Confluence
• Experience with Network Infrastructure (BigIP F5, VPN, firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP) is a plus!
• Ability to obtain Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer Certification within six months of hire

Preferred not Required:

• Agile Developer OR Certified Scrum Developer Certification 

Security Requirements:

• Secret Clearance
• Ability to obtain Security+ Certification
