Overview

CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a mission-driven Requirements Analyst to support the development and sustainment of a critical Marine Corps application. The analyst will serve as a liaison between end users, stakeholders, and the development team to ensure that functional, technical, and security requirements are accurately captured, documented, and validated in alignment with DoD and USMC standards.

 

Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.

Responsibilities

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

  • Participate and potentially conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working groups to elicit functional and non-functional requirements in coordination with the work that has been and will continue to be done by the Design team.
  • Translate operational needs into clear, testable, and traceable requirements using approved templates and tools.
  • Develop formal requirements documentation such as a Capability Development Document (CDD), Preliminary Specifications, etc. for the PMO.
  • Develop and maintain artifacts such as Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs), use cases, user stories, and interface specifications.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure requirements are feasible, secure, and compliant.
  • Support Agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, and sprint planning with a focus on requirement clarity and prioritization.
  • Ensure alignment with Marine Corps Enterprise IT policies, RMF controls, and data governance standards.
  • Participate in change management and configuration control boards to assess impact of requirement changes.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

  • Deep understanding of DoD and USMC acquisition lifecycle, including JCIDS and RMF.
  • Familiarity with Marine Corps mission sets, terminology, and operational workflows.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and DevSecOps principles.
  • Experience with DoD IT systems, data standards, and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Proficient in requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, DOORS, Confluence).
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills tailored to government audiences.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and translate needs into actionable requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-tempo, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Master’s degree with 6 years of experience (or Bachelors with 8 years of experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or relevant field. Degree may be substituted with additional relevant industry experience and / or industry accepted training and certification.

Preferred not Required:

  • 3–5 years of experience in DoD or federal requirements analysis.
  • Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or SAFe Product Owner/Analyst.
  • Prior experience supporting USMC applications or systems.

 

Security Requirements:

 

  • Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain Security+ Certification
